Why does kodi add-ons load every time I go back to the previous screen as if I’m loading it the first time? It’s painfully slow.

That’s pretty much the case for all add-ons that require internet. Like DeathStar, Eclipse, Exodus etc…

Is there a fix for this issue?

Edit: I’m using Sony Bravia Android TV….I also tried it on my Android phone OnePlus 6T the same behavior happens

Edit #2: I think it’s using cache when going back but fetching from cache is slow that it looks like it’s loading again. I am using EZ Maintenance+ and I have it set to the following:

AutoClean at startup enabled

Packages

Max total files size 200mb

Max number of zip files 50

Thumbnails

Max total files size 200mb

  1. It shouldn’t have to load the page again and instead use the info in cache.

Do you have any maintenance program running? Or maybe your system running that slow that it looks like it’s loading?

  2. I’m not sure why everyone is so testy but I don’t experience the behaviour you describe. I just tested exodus. It takes a while to load a new selection, say people watching TV shows and a little time to load a particular show but it’s instant to go back to each previous screen.
Seren is exactly the same. Instant going backwards.

  3. Because… they’re loading? That’s like saying, “why does every website I go to have to load?” The information isn’t kept on your computer at all times, because it is pulled from web sources, in order for it to be constantly changing.
