Showing off my build and a couple of questions

I hope this is okay to share. It took me bloody ages and I’m strangely proud of it. This community has helped me out loads too. Having re-built it a few times now I’m starting to realise just how much about Kodi I don’t understand. So please correct any nonsense I’ve written here. I also have a couple of questions:

Does anyone have tips to make things load faster? I have the widgets set to 10 but they still take ages to load.

Does anyone know of a method to integrate podcasts from Apple Itunes Podcasts into the Kodi library?

Significant addons:

Most of the video addons from the [pinned thread](https://www.kodi.guide.com/message/compose/?to=a4k_mod) integrated with Trakt and RD

[Chappa’ai](https://mytruemedia.com/best-kodi-addons/chappaai-addon-metalliq-alternative/) – So when I click any of the videos you see I get the choice of which video addon to find and play it with. It also makes library integration much simpler. You only need to integrate Chappa’ai rather than every video addon.

[Service Helper Widgets](https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=328558) – following those instructions, not from the Official Kodi Repo. With these and library integration my in progress/next up widgets are controlled locally rather than by Trakt. Trakt can be a little slow to update at times.

Youtube

[Youtube Library](https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=246110) – for library integration of YouTube channels and playlists.

[FTV Guru](https://techprison.org/fire-tv-guru-build-kodi/) – for cleaning and backup. I found out that Kodi keeps a shitload of thumbnails. I had a 1gb cache before running FTVGuru Maintenance. That’s huge for my 16GB Shield! I’ve also found that the backup addon in the Kodi Repo doesn’t work for me.

Trakt – For my watchlist and collection

  1. some speed up tips.
use as few addons as possible.
have as few ‘running dependencies’ as possible.
disable and or uninstall any enabled skins where applicable.
artwork/metadata – do you really need? why have extra?(widgets)
libraries – do you really need? when all is in the addons!
there’s another one but you might not like it – no logins.
as for cleaning/maintenance – once a month. if that.

  2. Seriously people don’t run cleaning tools on every start up! Do it once a week or once a month! It’s it not necessary and makes things take longer for you to load and outs more stress on the servers we all share!

  3. I have an old i3 2120 pc with an ssd and 4gb ram which is perfect, intel nuc is where I would definitely ately be putting my money tho, I had a shield and fire tv box and they just dont hack x86 processors load everything kodi related faster
