Well, you guys tore me a new one, and for good reason! I listened to your feedback and I know it’s still complicated, but I’m hoping these instructions are received better!

  1. I skimmed your first post and this looks WAY better. My mom could follow this version without much issue.

Only suggestion I have, and I’m not sure if this pertains to your setup, but it’s nice to have a “panic” section for when someone gets themselves deep into a menu and has no idea where they are or how to get out.

So it might be worth noting how to “reset” the system or get back to main screen, e.g. turn everything off and back on, or press the remote “back” button 10 times, or whatever.

  2. You guys were right! I am too familiar with this setup, and so it seemed so easy to me. But, overall it was too dense of information.

First, I split it onto two pages so that it wasn’t as overwhelming. Second, I stripped out all the unnecessary stuff like favorites, recording, etc. That stuff is really just for my wife and I anyways. I also simplified the directions overall and really made this more of an overview than step by step instructions.

I’m hoping you guys think this is an improvement. I know the best solution would be an entirely new setup with a streamlined remote and all-in-one user interface… but this is the best I have right now and so it’s something I’ll have to stick to.

    Thanks for all your feedback!

  3. “System Power” should be red — it’s like the biggest need on the whole remote to start but I missed it completely

Also, I think the yellow buttons for Search, Movies & Series should actually be green for the ‘streaming’ — the iconography doesn’t change on the button, just the purpose

    What’s the blue button do?
