Samsung SmartTV OTA Channels – Changed?

I have a newer 2017/18 Samsung Smart TV with the built in TV Plus app (that’s not what I use but just for anyone with a similar model). Overnight out of no where my OTA channels which have worked since the first scan are now completely different. I used to be able to simply get 2, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 11. Just tap those numbers on the remote and the channel was flawless. Now when I tap 11, it automatically goes to 11-24 which is not PIX11 at all. It’s some movie network. Tapping 5 redirects me to 5-244 or something similar where it’s a Spanish channel. I rescanned OTA from the TV but the issue is still occurring.

Anyone else experience this? It was fine last week 7/22/2019. I will note that when watching ABC7 on that date we did lose the channel briefly “weak or scrambled signal” but it came back on it’s own after a few minutes.

Any help is appreciated!

  1. OTA signals are being migrated accross the country, so maybe your stations aren’t broadcasting in the old Frequencies, which is why your previous channels don’t work anymore. Nothing to do with your TV.

  2. Thanks to all for the messages and replies. Looks like I will rescan in a few days after the migrations of frequencies is completed.

  3. I have a Samsung smart tv (2 yrs old) and I’m in the same area as you but I haven’t had anything happen like you described.
