  1. They went all out on vocal talent as well. Helena Bonham Carter, Tarin Egerton, Eddie Izzard, Mark Hamill, Lena Heady, Jason Isaacs, Andy Samburg…

  2. Please be good.

I watched the original on shrooms when I was about 19 or so, and boy did it ever make an impression on me, despite having seen it numerous times already. Rarely can you say if a movie it is as successful at being heartwarming as it is at being fiercely anti-authoritarian.

  3. “The detail is absolutely incredible, from the grotesque Skeksis to the menagerie of strange critters that make Thra feel as fully realized as Pandora from Avatar.”

Wow. Talk about damning with faint praise.

Seriously, though, the show is really good.

  4. I enjoyed the Skeksis doing the party jig at the end of the first episode.

That’s all I’ve watched but I’m sucked in for the entire series now.

  5. I watched the first episode but not sure I’ll continue. The puppetry is stiff and lacking, and the switches between puppets and CGI is obvious and jarring. I had high hopes, as I’m a big fan of the original, but I’m not feeling this.

  6. They should’ve went old school and built sets, used puppets with a green screen background to add special effects. A mix of old and new tech. Haven’t looked at it yet but this was one of my favs growing up as kid in mid 80s.
