  1. Headline is clickbaity as hell. Article makes it sound more like Google doesn’t want to throw all kinds of new laws/regulations at STBs becuase they’re already covered under other laws. They’re not opposing new rules, just seem to want to approach it logically.

    That said, I want to know more before I form an opinion. If Google wants to track my viewing habits without my consent, I’m not sure how I feel. Cable could already do this, but shouldn’t my own STB protect me from that? Isn’t that why I don’t want to use the provider’s?
